On September 17 and 18, 2019, the Geophysical division held a grassroots acceptance committee on the results of the implementation of work items in 2019 Project: “Building a map of the natural radioactive environment scale 1:250,000 for the whole territory of Vietnam – Phase I (2011-2015): for some key areas” led by Geophysical Engineer Tran Anh Tuan. Implementing unit: Center for Technology and Testing of Geophysical Machines.
This is the last year of implementation of this project, the result of the project is a document assessing the current status of radioactive environment in the provinces: Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh and Ninh Thuan, helping managers , environmental protection has an overview of the radioactive environment, thereby planning the right strategic direction in environmental protection, maintaining stability in areas with low pollution levels, taking measures to limit pollution. control and reduce pollution levels in high-risk areas.
When completed, the map of Vietnam’s natural radioactive environment will be internationalized to serve as a legal basis to protect national interests when environmental pollution impacts from outside the territory occur such as: nuclear incidents, military activities, socio-economic activities related to radioactivity dispersed in the soil, water and air environment.
