On the morning of August 28, 2025, at the Headquarters of the Federation of Geological Division, the Youth Union of the Federation of Geological Physics solemnly held the Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union for the 2025 – 2027 term.
Attending the Congress were comrade Kieu Huynh Phuong – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Federation of Geological Physics; comrade Nguyen Thi Lan Huong – Member of the Party Committee, Head of the Planning and Finance Department, comrade Nguyen Thi Hong Minh – Head of the Organization and Administration Department, and all youth union members of the Federation of Geological Division.

The Congress elected the Presidium including: Comrade Nguyen Van Hanh, Comrade Lai Duy Khuong, Comrade Pham Thi Hue Linh, Secretariat including Comrades Ta Hai Anh and Do Ngoc Hong.

At this Congress, the Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union summarized and evaluated the results of the Youth Union movement for the 2022-2025 term, seriously pointed out the advantages, disadvantages, existing aspects and limitations; at the same time, proposed directions and tasks in accordance with the specific requirements of the Youth Union for the 2025-2027 term.
Comrade Lai Duy Khuong, member of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, delivered the opening speech at the Congress.
In his opening speech at the Conference, Comrade Lai Duy Khuong said that in the past term, under the direct guidance of the Party Committee of the Federation of Geological Physics, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the Federation has made many steps of growth in work as well as in cultivating ethics, training in political qualities, studying, working and in many other fields. Although there are still many difficulties when the union cadres are young and have little experience, the Executive Committee of the Youth Union has tried to maintain the movement activities and gradually consolidate and contribute to the achievements that the Federation has achieved.
Comrade Nguyen Van Hanh, Secretary of the Youth Union for the 2022-2025 term, presented the Summary Report for the 2022-2025 term and the direction and tasks for the 2025-2027 term.
Presenting the Summary Report at the Congress, Comrade Nguyen Van Hanh said that the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union has implemented and achieved certain results as follows:
Political and ideological education and Party building work
The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the Federation has seriously implemented and fully participated in the movements launched by the unit; the movement to practice thrift, fight waste and corruption, promote administrative reform, build a scientific working style, and uphold the spirit of serving the people. In the 2022-2025 term, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the Federation had a number of individuals who were commended and recognized for their Youth Union activities.
All members of the Youth Union Branch fully participated in the study sessions of the Party’s resolutions and the meetings of the Trade Unions at all levels as well as those convened by the agencies and units. The members have well implemented the rules, regulations, tasks and requirements assigned by the agencies, Youth Union Branch and the Department’s Youth Union.
Implement the campaigns “Studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s moral example” and “Youth studying and following Uncle Ho’s teachings”; actively respond to the movements “Year of shock for socio-economic development, protecting the Fatherland” and “Four companions with youth in establishing a career” among the Youth Union members of the Youth Union Branch.
The Youth Union regularly maintains and attaches importance to the work of Party development, pays attention to training and introducing outstanding members to the Party. During the last term, the Union trained many outstanding members to be admitted to the Party, and many outstanding members attended the new Party member class.
Professional and scientific work
Youth Union members in the Youth Union Branch are the main core force participating in performing professional tasks and always completing assigned tasks well, while actively participating in performing tasks such as: Participating in developing legal documents, Participating in topics and projects related to the field of Mineral Geology.
All Youth Union members strictly comply with the regulations and operating rules of the agency; actively respond and contribute to building a cultural office, strictly observe working hours, actively take the lead in practicing thrift, and combating corruption and waste.
Study and improve qualifications:
Aware of the immediate tasks in the period of accelerated modernization, the members of the Youth Union have actively studied to improve their professional qualifications, foreign languages and information technology; ready to acquire and master new, modern equipment to effectively apply to the professional work of the unit. In addition, the Youth Union members have also actively self-studied to improve their qualifications outside of working hours such as university and postgraduate studies.
Emulation and reward work of the Youth Union:
Every year, the Youth Union organizes rewards and encourages Youth Union members who have made positive contributions to the Youth Union work of the agency and the Department’s Youth Union.
Cultural, sports and other activities:
Actively participate in activities organized by the Trade Union and the Youth Union of the Department such as: Participating in the voluntary blood donation movement. Participating in awarding excellent students of each school year, participating in organizing the Sports Competition program of Block IV in 2023. In addition, the Youth Union members of the Federation also fully participate in fire prevention and fighting activities and annual militia and self-defense activities in the area.
Comrade Ta Hai Anh, member of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Aeronautical Geophysics Group, delivered a speech at the Congress.
The Congress listened to presentations from Youth Union members such as Comrade Ta Hai Anh with his presentation: The solidarity of union members in professional work: Union members have had close solidarity in the activities of the Union, such as youth volunteering, blood donation, sports, tree planting… However, the collective and proactive nature of the youth union has not been clearly demonstrated in professional work, mainly individual contributions in carrying out the professional political tasks of the Federation.
Comrade Do Ngoc Hong, Communist Youth Union member of the Center for Geophysical Technology and Equipment Testing, gave a speech at the Congress.
Comrade Do Ngoc Hong with his speech: Improving professional capacity, scientific research ability and application of new technology to serve the development of the Federation: Regarding this issue, Comrade Do Ngoc Hong proposed the following solutions: Create conditions for young union members to participate in training courses, workshops, seminars, and professional conferences at home and abroad to improve their qualifications, aspirations and vision. Enhance knowledge of new technologies, especially AI, and the application of AI in the field of Geology and Minerals, by inviting experts to share and impart knowledge… Organize innovation competitions where union members can propose and develop new technology applications in the field of hydrometeorology. The best initiatives can be supported to develop into practical projects and topics. Actively research, apply achievements, effectively utilize positive factors from the 4.0 Industrial Revolution, especially actively participate in the national digital transformation process.

Speaking at the Congress, Comrade Kieu Huynh Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Federation, said that the Party Committee and the Federation’s leaders always acknowledge the efforts and contributions of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Branch of the Federation. In recent years, from practical activities, many meaningful activities of the Youth Union Branch of the Federation have continued to be expanded with action movements, traditional activities, moral education, lifestyle, culture, art, physical education and sports and voluntary blood donation activities, participating in environmental protection, attracting a large number of union members to participate, contributing to the implementation of the common tasks of the Federation, while affirming the vanguard role of the Youth Union Branch of the Federation in the development of the Federation. Through practical and meaningful action movements, the Youth Union Branch has been increasingly consolidated and developed, contributing to the solidarity and gathering of young people in activities.
However, it is also necessary to frankly admit that, in the past term, the activities of the Youth Union and the youth movement were not really proactive at times, the activities were not really diverse, and the exchange and sharing of working experiences between the Youth Union organizations and units was not much. The Youth Union has not yet created even development at all levels, and has not yet strongly promoted the potential and creativity of the youth. The solidarity and gathering of youth in some areas has not been effective.
Comrade Kieu Huynh Phuong also hopes that the youth union members attending the Congress will promote their sense of responsibility, wisely choose and elect the new Executive Committee of the Youth Union with enough capacity, qualities and prestige to direct and organize the successful implementation of the resolutions set forth by the Congress, bringing the youth movement of the Youth Union to continue to develop, achieving even greater achievements, contributing to the overall achievements of the Federation.
