On March 6, 2026, the 2026 Conference of Officials and Employees of the Federation of Geophysics was solemnly held at the Conference Hall on the 4th floor of the Federation of Geophysics Headquarters. This conference is an important annual event aimed at promoting the ownership rights of officials and employees, evaluating the results of tasks performed in 2025, and setting directions and tasks for 2026.
The conference was conducted in an enthusiastic, serious, and orderly atmosphere. The conference addressed the following issues:
1. The reports were unanimously approved:
– The report summarizing the Federation’s work in 2025 and outlining the tasks and directions for 2026 was presented to the Conference by Comrade Kieu Huynh Phuong – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Head of the Federation.
– The report on the implementation of the 2025 budget, the 2026 financial estimates, and the amendment of the Federation’s internal spending regulations was presented to the Conference by Comrade Pham Quang Hung – Member of the Party Committee Executive Board, Deputy Head of the Federation.
2. In response to the launch of the emulation movement for 2026-2027 initiated by Mr. Quach Van Hieu – Deputy Head of the Organization and Administration Department – at the Conference.
3. Commendation for outstanding achievements by teams and individuals in 2024.
Attending the Conference on behalf of the Vietnam Department of Geology and Minerals were Comrade Tran My Dung – Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Deputy Director; and the heads of departments under the Vietnam Department of Geology and Minerals. On behalf of the Federation were Comrade Lai Manh Giau – Secretary of the Party Committee, Federation President; Comrade Kieu Huynh Phuong – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Federation President; Comrade Pham Quang Hung, Member of the Executive Committee, Deputy Federation President; and the heads of departments and units under the Federation, along with all 76 delegates of officials and employees of the Federation. Given the importance of the Conference, all officials, officials, and employees demonstrated seriousness and high concentration throughout the conference program.

To manage the program, the Conference elected a Presidium consisting of 3 members: Lai Manh Giau – Secretary of the Party Committee, Head of the Federation; Kieu Huynh Phuong – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Federation; and Pham Quang Hung, Member of the Executive Committee, Deputy Head of the Federation. The Secretariat consists of 2 members: Lai Ngoc Dung – Deputy Head of the Marine Geophysics Team and Pham Thi Hue Linh – Deputy Head of the Planning and Finance Department.

In 2025, the Federation demonstrated unity, proactiveness, creativity, and dedication in striving to successfully complete its political tasks according to the set program and plan. As a result, the Federation was assessed as having successfully fulfilled its assigned duties. Simultaneously, thanks to the proactive leadership of the Federation, the self-awareness, responsibility, and innovation of the staff and employees, the Federation successfully carried out and completed its political tasks; and the quality of professional work continuously improved.
On behalf of the Presidium, Comrade Kieu Huynh Phuong – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Federation – presented the report summarizing the implementation of tasks in 2025 and the direction and solutions for implementing tasks in 2026 with the general goal of “Innovation, quality improvement, unity and discipline,” striving to excellently complete all assigned tasks.

In a spirit of democracy and responsibility, the Conference held discussions to contribute to and refine the plan of tasks for 2026. The Conference heard presentations and contributions from representatives of departments and units under the Federation regarding the Conference’s overall report. All opinions and contributions were constructive and demonstrated a sense of responsibility in building a stronger and more prosperous Federation.

After listening to the opinions of the delegates, Comrade Tran My Dung – Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Geological and Mineral Resources Department, on behalf of the Department’s Party Committee and leadership, acknowledged and highly appreciated the Federation’s proactive and responsible performance in carrying out its assigned political tasks. Comrade Tran My Dung emphasized that the Federation needs to continue to leverage its strengths in geophysics, combining it effectively with geological work in geological surveys and mineral exploration to successfully complete its assigned tasks in 2026 and subsequent years.

With a spirit of unity, innovation, responsibility, and discipline, the Conference heard Comrade Quach Van Hieu – Deputy Head of the Organization and Administration Department – launch a special emulation movement for 2026 towards the 60th anniversary of the Federation’s founding (October 1967 – October 2027) to all officials and employees.

On this occasion, the Conference also commended and rewarded collectives and individuals who had achieved outstanding results in trade union and government work in 2024. On behalf of the Party Committee and the Department’s leadership, Comrade Tran My Dung presented flowers and certificates of merit to the collectives and individuals.
The conference took place in an atmosphere of enthusiastic competition, with a spirit of unity, cooperation, and determination to elevate the Federation to a new level in 2026. The Federation’s collective is determined to continue fostering a love for the profession, dynamism, and creativity to excellently fulfill the assigned tasks in 2026, contributing to the building and development of the country in the new era.
