So far, in our country, there is no calibration room for RAD7 radioactive gas meter (measuring radon, thoron gas), so RAD7 machines have to be sent abroad for calibration. The construction of the RAD7 radioactive gas meter calibration room will create favorable conditions for the performance of environmental geological assessment and investigation tasks, saving time and costs for calibration.
In 2019, the Geophysical Division was equipped with a system of machines and equipment for the construction of the calibration room of the RAD7 radioactive gas meter (measuring radon, thoron gas) under the project: “Strengthening equipment capacity” construction of geological-mineral investigations, geological hazards and environmental geology” performed by the General Department of Geology and Minerals of Vietnam.
This is a calibration room with technical conditions and capacity to calibrate RAD7 radioactive gas meters not only for units inside and outside the natural resources – environment industry but also for countries in the region.
