HISTORY BEGIN

Ground Geophysical Union, formerly known as Ground Geophysical Enterprise, was established under Decision No. 30/CDC.QD dated 16/03/1991 of Vietnam Geological Department on the basis of Group 84 (established in 1987). In 2014 merged with the Regional Geophysical Union under Decision No. 454/QD-VLDC dated September 25, 2014 of the Head of the Federation of Geophysics.

(Note: The Area Geophysical Union was formerly known as the 79th Geophysical Union (established in 1979). The name was changed to the Regional Geophysical Union according to Decision No. 54/QD-ĐCKS dated 22 July 2011 of the Government. Director General of the General Department of Geology and Minerals).

FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND POWERS

The Ground Geophysical Union under the Geophysical division has the functions, powers, and organizational structure prescribed by the Vietnam Geological Survey in Decision No. 233/QD-DCVN dated February 14, 2023

I. Location and function

The Ground Geophysical Union is a unit under the Federation of Geophysics and Geophysics, which has the function of organizing the implementation of geophysical investigations to serve the basic geological, mineral, and mineral exploration work. , environmental geology, engineering geology-hydrogeology, geological hazards on land; detailed examination of aeronautical geophysical anomalies nationwide; perform public non-business services in geology and minerals in accordance with law.

The Ground Geophysical Union has its own seal, is dependent on the Geological Physics Federation, and is allowed to open an account at the Bank in accordance with the law; head office in Ha Dong district, Hanoi city.

II. Duties and powers

1. Participate in the development of long-term, medium-term and annual plans of the Federation; geophysical investigation projects and projects serving the basic investigation of geology, minerals, mineral exploration, environmental geology, engineering geology-hydrogeology, geological hazards in the world. mainland nationwide; investment and development projects of the Federation.
2. To perform the work items ordered by the State or assigned the tasks assigned by the Federation according to the annual plan of the geophysical investigation projects and projects in service of the basic geological and mineral investigation. production, mineral exploration, environmental geology, engineering geology-hydrogeology, geological hazards on land; detailed examination of aeronautical geophysical anomalies nationwide.
3. Perform other duties as assigned by the Federation, including:
a) Participating in determining the cost of reimbursement for the use of geological data information, quantifying and accounting for the value of geological resources and minerals in accordance with law.
b) Participate in the implementation of scientific research programs and projects in the field of geology and minerals.
c) Monitoring and synthesizing information, data and data on geophysical investigation in service of basic geological and mineral investigations, mineral exploration, environmental geology, engineering geology- hydrogeology, geological hazards on land nationwide.
4. Performing geological and mineral-related service activities, including:
a) Organize the construction of work items under the geological and mineral service contracts signed by the Federation and assigned the unit to perform.
b) Performing services on geology and minerals as decentralized or authorized by the Federation Head for: geophysics, geology, minerals, environmental geology, engineering geology – hydrogeology, geological hazards and other services on geology and minerals as prescribed by law.
5. Implement technical processes and regulations in production; carry out the work of occupational safety and hygiene, fire and explosion prevention in the operation of the unit according to regulations.
6. Internal acceptance of tasks and completed work of the unit, submit to the Federation for acceptance on basis the tasks assigned by the Federation.
7. Financial management, property and machinery and equipment assigned by the Federation; Organizational management, employment positions; officials and employees; implementation of administrative reform; practicing thrift, preventing and combating waste; carry out the task of preventing and combating corruption, negativity and policies in accordance with the State’s regulations and as decentralized by the Head of the Federation.
8. Implement periodical and irregular statistical reports on the performance of assigned tasks.
9. Perform other tasks assigned by the Federation Chief.

III. Organizational structure of the Union

The total number of staff of the Ground Geophysical Union at present is: 19 people, of which 16 are male; 03 female.

The organizational structure includes:

1. The leader of the Ground Geophysical Union is a Team Leader and Deputy Leaders. The number of deputy head of the delegation shall comply with the provisions of law.
2. The Team Leader is responsible before the Union Leader and before the law for all activities of the Union and assigned tasks; develop unit rules; sign professional documents according to their assigned functions and tasks and other documents as authorized by the Federation Head.
3. The Deputy Leader assists the Team Leader and is responsible to the Team Leader and before the law on the field of work assigned by the Team Leader.
4. Officials and employees of the Union performing specialized tasks Subjects as assigned by the Team Leader and responsible to the Team Leader for the assigned tasks.

Summary of achievements

The main task of the delegation is to implement projects and projects on land, including:

– From 1985 to present, projects on detailed examination of many aircraft geophysical anomalies have been carried out, elucidating their geological and mineral nature; detect and identify many anomalous clusters related to minerals to investigate, evaluate and discover new mines of many types of minerals (non-ferrous, rare, radioactive, industrial minerals). These are: Xuan Lanh fluorite (Phu Yen); gold (Son Hoa, Xa Lat, Xuan Son, Tra Bu, So Tang, Tay Hue…), magnesite Kong Queng (Gia Lai), iron and copper-nickel in That Khe (Cao Bang), iron and lead-zinc in Cho Don (Bac Kan), Thuong Giap (Tuyen Quang), Phan Thanh copper (Cao Bang) and a series of coastal ilmenite placer deposits; Gold in Khe Mang, Khe Nang (Ha Tinh), A Ngo (Western Hue), Tra Doc (Quang Nam), Tien Cam (Quang Ngai)….

– Measuring and drawing gravity: measuring and drawing gravity at the scale of 1/10,000 according to the flight scheme measured from the gamma spectrum; thematic projects such as Hoa Binh – Cam Thuy; Cam Pha coal gravity exploration; measuring and drawing gravity at the scale of 1/50,000 nationwide; …

– Construction of geological and mineral investigation projects:

Project: Evaluation of magnesite prospect in Kon Queng region, Kon Chro district, West Kon Queng, Kon Chro district, Gia Lai province.

Project: Investigate and evaluate the overall potential of magnesite, dolomite and wolastonite in Tay So Ro area, Kon Chro district, Gia Lai province.

Project: Inspect and examine in detail anomalous bands from aviation in Thuong Giap area, Tuyen Quang province, Thanh Hoa, …

– Construction of hydrogeological projects: searching and assessing groundwater in difficult mountainous and border provinces such as Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Bac Kan….

– Construction of projects on engineering geology and geological hazards: Investigate, evaluate and zoning for warning of disaster risk of landslides and rocks in mountainous areas of Vietnam.

– Construction of government projects: investigation and overall assessment of Bauxite – Laterit in the Central Highlands, exploration of red sand – Binh Thuan…

– Producing geological services in the fields of:

+ Construction services on mineral geology: iron ore exploration in Tham La; exploration of potassium salt mines – Lao PDR; iron mine exploration – Cambodia; prospecting for gold mines Bong Mieu, Phuoc Son – Quang Nam…….

+ Construction services of geophysical measurement and water exploration drilling for many localities and agencies nationwide: geophysical measurement and hydrogeological drilling for water exploration in Cao Bang; Lac Thinh – Hoa Binh; Bim Son – Thanh Hoa…..
